The Book Divers
Durvinthāl sits on the western shore of the majestic Lake Krovigienne. The land slopes downward toward the great water-filled crater, which allows for a good view of the lake from about anywhere in the town. Dark silhouettes of fishing boats can be seen pulling large nets of shimmering fish from the shimmering waves in the morning as the sun rises over the distant mountains and onto the lake. After midday the fishers roast their haul over the hearths of warm fires that send puffs of soft gray smoke up through tall stone chimneys. At night, the residents take slow strolls through the streets and smoke their pipes in rocking chairs on their porches.
